AUGMENT

Problem
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is widely adopted for complex and critical systems, in particular in the defense domain, but it struggles with the heterogeneity of the models, languages and tools it relies on. Most existing model management solutions only address consistency between models; they leave aside disciplined change management and the validity of the models and of the experimental frames used to produce them.
Contribution
AUGMENT (Approche Unifiée de Gestion de Modèles pour l'IngéNierie des SysTèmes Complexes) develops a unified Model Management (MoM) methodology for MBSE that is consistent, traceable, evolvable and experimentally validated. It combines the management of model heterogeneity, change management built on the notion of an Authoritative Source of Truth (ASoT), and the explicit management of model and experimental-frame validity. The project builds on OpenFlexo's model federation and on the ACMoM hierarchical megamodel work to produce both a theoretical foundation and a unified software infrastructure prototype, targeting defense systems and, beyond, reliable digital twins.
