MoM Challenge

The Model Management (MoM) workshop, co-located with MODELS, includes a Model Management Challenge: the MoM community is invited to respond with submissions describing solutions expressed in a technology of the authors' choice, emphasizing the merits and limitations of their solution against the criteria defined in the challenge description. The challenge does not aim to be a competition but a forum to gather stakeholders in model management and let them discuss their approach on a level playing field.

1. The 2025 challenge: satellite configuration

MoM 2025 (co-located with MODELS 2025) set the inaugural challenge on model management during the configuration of a satellite: a set of artefacts in multiple formalisms, the links between them, and a number of scenarios describing changes and how a model management solution should propagate them. The challenge contents are on Zenodo, and its public git repository is mom-challenge/satellite-config.

2. Our contribution

We responded to the challenge with OpenFlexo, showing how it federates the challenge's heterogeneous models — OWL ontologies, JSON architecture files, Excel-based requirements, and text reports — while keeping traceable and consistent links between them, and evaluated our contribution against the five key scenarios identified in the challenge.
